Women export consortia

Abstract

This RIE is being conducted as part of the GIZ export promotion project PEMA II that cooperated with the Tunisian export promotion agency (CEPEX) to promote small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) exports to Sub-Saharan Africa. The RIE assesses an intervention amongst women led companies in Tunisia that aims to promote export willingness and ability through the establishment of sectoral women export consortia. By creating these export consortia, the project seeks to empower women entrepreneurs to venture into exporting with a particular focus on new and promising markets in Sub-Saharan Africa. The evaluation is designed and conducted in close collaboration with researchers from the Technical University Berlin and the Mediterranean School of Business (MSB) in Tunis. The initial population for this RIE is 80 beneficiary companies with a further 120 companies constituting the control group.
