Evaluation of the Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion (STEP) – University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Abstract

STEP is an action-oriented and evidence-based entrepreneurship training scheme for youths and young adults. STEP develops young people’s skills, knowledge and confidence to pursue an entrepreneurial career by starting their own businesses. In 2013, STEP Training was implemented at the University of Dar es Salaam for the first time. This implementation featured the first scientific evaluation of the STEP train-the-trainer workshop. The evaluation included full video coverage of the workshop and all training sessions. This allowed us to conduct an in-depth examination of the processes in the training-of-trainers workshop as well as the training sessions leading to the positive effects of the STEP Training.
