Evaluation of the effectiveness of the Reintegration and Rehabilitation Programme Phase V (RRP-V) using a block and cluster randomised trial

Abstract

The study assessed the effectiveness of a reintegration and rehabilitation programme (RRP-V) on all of the framework's key impact and outcome indicators using a block and cluster RCT. Indicators were measured during a baseline and midline survey. As expected, positive impacts were found for two of the three intervention arms, agriculture and WASH, and weak positive impacts were found for the intervention arm strengthening gender equality. Conceptually, the results suggest stronger effects at the output/result level (e.g. access to clean water) than at the impact level (e.g. reduction in waterborne diseases). The midline analyses show that RRP-V can bring about promising changes in people's lives but also raise important questions for further investigation.
