Agroecology in the semi-arid region of Pernambuco – CENTRO SABIÁ: pathways to building sustainable food systems

Abstract

The study analyses the effects of promoting family farming within the principles of agroecology. The sampling was composed of 419 interviews. The research pointed out that farming families who are making the agroecological transition with the support of Centro Sabiá produce more food, have a greater farm income, have more food and nutritional security, and in general their farming systems are more resilient.
