Evaluation of the Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion Sustainability (STEP S) – Godfrey Okoye University, Nigeria; University of Venda, Southafrica, Mount Kenya University, Kenya

Abstract

STEP Sustainability is an action-oriented and evidence-based training program on sustainable entrepreneurship. It targets youth and young adults and aims to motivate them to pursue an entrepreneurial career and start their own sustainable business. In early 2024, a DAAD-funded project was launched with three partner universities: Godfrey Okoye University, Nigeria; University of Venda, South Africa; and Mount Kenya University, Kenya. The project aims to develop, implement, and evaluate STEP Sustainability for three target groups: student teachers, undergraduate students, and PhD/postgraduate students. Each partner university is responsible for designing and implementing the training for one of these groups. Through a South–South exchange, the partners share experiences and materials across institutions. By the end of the project in 2027, all three partner universities are expected to be able to offer STEP Sustainability to all three target groups. First data collection period with four measurement points (baseline, short-term, and long-term): 2024–2026. Second data collection period with four measurement points (baseline, short-term, and long-term): 2025–2027.
