Zur B ewertung der Wirkungen von WIDU.africa auf Beschäftigung, Einkommen, und Ko mpetenzentwicklung sowie weitere Ergebnisse für die Teilnehmenden hat die G IZ eine rigorose Wirksamkeitsstudie in Auftrag gegeben, die auf einem quasi- experimentellen Mixed-Methods-Ansatz basiert. Die Studie wurde über einen Z eitraum von drei Jahren (2021–2023) durchgeführt und begleitete mehr als 700 KKMU mittels einer Baseline-, Midline- und Endline-Erhebung; insgesamt w urden über 1.800 Einzelinterviews geführt. Ergänzend fand eine qualitativ e Datenerhebung statt, darunter qualitative Interviews mit geförderten Unte rnehmer*innen und ihren jeweiligen Diaspora-Fördern, Unternehmer*innen der Kontrollgruppe sowie Fokusgruppendiskussionen (u. a. mit Diaspora-Vertreter* innen und Coaches der lokalen Coaching-Organisationen). Die Ergebnisse zeige n, dass die WIDU-Förderung statistisch signifikant positive Effekte auf die Schaffung von Arbeitsplätzen, den Umsatz, den Gewinn, das persönliche Ein kommen der Unternehmer*innen sowie zahlreiche weitere Sekundäreffekte hat ( z.B. verbesserten Zugang zu Gesundheit, Ernährungssicherung sowie Bildung a uf Haushaltsebene sowie reduzierte Migrationsintention nach Europa).'
